JOB SUMMARYThe Marketing Manager plays a critical role for the Denny's brand, taking the lead responsibility for developing plans and executing marketing initiatives in support of our national calendar, kids menu and value platforms which help reinforce the brand's overall marketing strategy. This role is also key in developing the national marketing calendar that incorporates key initiatives related to LTO and menu product news. JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Manager collaborates with Marketing Strategy, Traffic & Sales Growth, Product Development, Consumer Insights, Agency Partners, Field Marketing, Procurement, IT, Operations, Merchandising and Finance to ensure that all new product offerings and platforms for each marketing module remain relevant to consumers and can effectively drive incremental sales and profitable traffic while ensuring these initiatives are communicated clearly and implemented effectively. Additionally, the Manager takes a lead role in managing relevant promotional opportunities, beverage initiatives, ad-hoc projects, vendor partners and communication agencies, as well as all aspects of their projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities) * In partnership with Marketing VP and Sr. Director of Marketing Strategy, develops strategic marketing calendar that drives profitable system traffic. * Oversees calendar testing efforts for value platforms and kids menus from planning, development, execution and analysis as well as communications, inventory management, pricing, projections, and operational feedback. * Leads all beverage initiatives, working closely with cross-functional team in an effort to increase sales and offer relevant products. * Leads the brand's promotional partnership and co-branding opportunities with key strategic partners in an effort to increase sales and build brand relevance with critical consumer segments. * Collaborates with all cross-functional team members to develop multi-layer promotional and product messaging that is relevant to key segments. * Manages the product and marketing program implementation process for all national module rollouts, working closely with all functional areas to ensure flawless execution. * Aligns internal cross functional partners, communicates & presents plans to key stakeholders. * Partners with Brand Insights Manager and Product Development to identify key areas of opportunity for new menu items that will meet existing customer needs and drive traffic to our restaurants. * Writes strategic briefs for internal and agency partners to guide the development of products and/or creative material, enabling them to deliver on the project's strategic vision. * Consults with Traffic & Sales Growth teams to ensure that in-restaurant and digital creative materials deliver on the brand strategy. * Partners with Ops/Restaurant Readiness group to produce training materials for new marketing initiatives and train stores as needed. * Communicates test results, and key learnings to internal leaders and Franchise partners in order to successfully sell-in calendar modules, kids initiatives, beverage programs and promotional initiatives. * Leads project management efforts related to calendar, special projects, product / ops testing and other initiatives as defined. * Partners with Field Marketing Director and team to ensure seamless communication of national marketing calendar initiatives and maximum effectiveness and integration of national and local messaging. * Attends committee and other meetings, capturing notes on discussions and next steps. * Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTEDUCATIONBA in Marketing, Business, or related field. Master's degree in Business Administration preferred. EXPERIENCE7-10 years of consumer marketing experience. Strong project management background. Experience in management of marketing calendar strategy & execution. Restaurant/Retail experience required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS * Demonstrates high-energy leadership while working with a team. * Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; able to quickly build cooperative and productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors. * Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation. * Demonstrated expertise with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. * Strong attention to detail. * Exceptional organizational and time management skills. * Ability to travel up to 25%.
