Security Officer LOCATION: Wild Horse Pass Corporate Center COMPENSATION: DOE HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, Full-Time FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt SUPERVISORY: No REPORTS TO: Security Manager ______________________________________________________________________________ Position Overview: As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of individuals, properties, and assets within an event center, convenience stores, corporate buildings, and associated properties. You will implement security measures, monitor surveillance equipment, and respond to security incidents as needed. Responsibilities: Surveillance and Monitoring: Use surveillance systems to monitor designated areas. Keep a vigilant eye for suspicious activities or security breaches. Conduct routine patrols to ensure premises are secure. Access Control: Monitor access points and ensure only authorized individuals enter. Verify credentials of personnel, visitors, and vendors. Emergency Response: Act promptly in case of emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, or security threats. Follow established procedures to handle crisis situations. Liaise with emergency services when necessary. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations. Prepare incident reports outlining security breaches or disturbances. Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors, customers, and employees when needed. Act as a point of contact for inquiries and directions. Security Measures Implementation: Enforce security protocols and guidelines established for the respective locations. Participate in the development and implementation of security procedures. Collaboration: Coordinate with other security personnel and departments to ensure a cohesive security environment. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Qualifications: Security Guard card is required. Ability to pass and provide a clean 39-month Motor Vehicle Report. Proven experience in security-related roles or relevant training (security certification, law enforcement background, etc.). Knowledge of surveillance systems and security operations. Ability to remain calm and make quick, rational decisions in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication skills. Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Flexibility with work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Additional Skills: First aid/CPR certification. Proficiency in using security software and technology. Computer Skills: Microsoft 365 software, Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook ; Internet Explorer; Apple mac OS/iOS, basic knowledge of project management software. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple/complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write internal and external correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
