Rooted in love and guided by faith, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals, families, and children in Salt Lake City and beyond.Position Overview: Conversation SLC is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Children's Director. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive children's ministry program that nurtures the spiritual, social, and emotional growth of children from infancy through elementary school. The Children's Director will work closely with the pastoral staff, volunteers, and families to create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where children can learn about God's love and develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a strategic vision for the children's ministry program in alignment with the mission and values of Conversation SLC. Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of Sunday school classes, children's worship services, and special events for children. Recruit, train, and empower a team of volunteers to serve in various capacities within the children's ministry, including teachers, helpers, and event coordinators. Create age-appropriate curriculum and teaching materials that are biblically sound, engaging, and relevant to the developmental needs of children. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where children feel valued, loved, and accepted regardless of their background or abilities. Establish effective communication channels with parents and guardians to keep them informed about upcoming events, curriculum updates, and opportunities for involvement. Collaborate with other ministry leaders and staff members to integrate the children's ministry program into the broader life of the church community. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment for children and volunteers. Evaluate the effectiveness of the children's ministry program on a regular basis and implement improvements as needed. Stay current with trends, best practices, and resources related to children's ministry and Christian education. Qualifications: A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian values and principles. Bachelor's degree in theology, Christian education, child development, or a related field (preferred). Previous experience working in children's ministry or related field, with a proven track record of leadership and program development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to children, parents, volunteers, and staff members from diverse backgrounds. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a high attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Flexibility to work on weekends and evenings as needed for events and programs.
