Reports to: Program Coordinator Wage: $10-$13/hour GENERAL PURPOSE The T-Ball/Coach Pitch/Machine Pitch League Supervisor serves under the direction of and general supervision of the Sports Program Coordinators and the Recreation Directors. This program begins in May and runs through June. Weekly hours may vary depending on the season and league programming. League Supervisors should possess knowledge of general baseball rules and have skills in communicating effectively with coaches, players, officials, and spectators. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Questions call 785-XXXX. FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES Working under the direct supervision of the recreation program coordinators. Attending all scheduled games and arriving 30 minutes before game time. Ability to work well with youth and adults. Overseeing staff assigned by the league coordinator, i.e., scorekeepers, and referees. Supervise/Referee assigned league games, and report league information to the coordinator. Assisting coordinators with the training of youth staff. Assisting with coach's meetings and any necessary league preparation. Submittal of supervised staff hours Setup/take down and clean-up of facilities after each game day. Substituting as a supervisor for other programs within the recreation department. Assisting with all other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have good oral and written communication abilities. Good public relation skills and customer service skills. Ability to work with all ages of youth and adults. Ability to follow basic safety precautions and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to make sound decisions in sometimes stressful environments. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Experience working in a supervisory position is preferred but not required. CONDITIONS Moderate physical activity. Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds. Position requires walking, standing, lifting, and other physical activity.
