Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area. We are currently seeking a full-time M en's Shelter Manager for our building on Pittsburgh's Northside. This position oversees the M en's Shelter team and services, ensuring that the needs of guests are met. Will provide Christian hospitality, case management, and safety to our guests . Th is position will also manage relationships with the county , other outside agencies, and volunteers . Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring that the Shelter team p erforms intake and assessments to determine needs and fit into Light of Life programming or other external programs. Building relationships and c ollaborating with other teams within Light of Life ( e.g. , Outreach, Men's Longterm Program, Women's Shelter) and external resources to provide comp rehensiv e services in the continuum of care to guests. Ensuring that care plans are effectively developed and documented for all guests. Providing orientation and ongoing training and support to team members to effectively perform all areas of service, including case manageme nt and de-escalation. Maintaining existing programming and designing/redesigning programs offerings as needed. Entering accurate and timely data of shelter guest demographics into HMIS (per Department of Human Services requirements) as well as entry into Light of Life's software, MissionTracker . Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to: Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them through actions and words. Establish mutual trust while maintaining a safe, authentic environment. Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff handbook. Help the clients make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest. Practice effective stewardship of all resources. Model our organizational core values of Honoring God, Loving Well, Embracing Growth, Valuing Diversity, and Pursuing Excellence. Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership skills including timely and effective decision making. Ability to manage various tasks and projects concurrently. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn software applications. Ability to effectively manage s crisis situations, including deescalating/resolving conflict. Capable of creating staff work schedules to optimize coverage and effectiveness. K nowledgeable in educational, skilled-based, and relapse prevention groups. Competent in motivational interviewing and stages of change model. Excellent administrative and communication skills required. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in or relating to sociology, psychology, human services or social work More than 5 years social services work experience and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience 5 years of case management experience preferred 2-4 years' prior related experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of addiction and mental health issues, including relapse prevention groups Light of Life Ministries Inc offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision and other valuable benefits, which begin the first of the month following employment.
