Feldman, Kramer & Monaco, P.C. is seeking a seasoned, dedicated, full-time Special Education Attorney. Are you passionate about advocating for children's rights and ensuring equal access to education for all? Do you have a strong understanding of special education laws and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of families navigating the educational system?Want to work in a Long Island, NY team environment where you will represent existing clients of the firm? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!To the right candidate we offer a salary between $65,000 and $165,000, 80% of health insurance paid (Employee Only Plan) and other benefits.Responsibilities:· Advocate for an appropriate evaluation to protect a child's rights and interests.· Protect a child's rights to free, appropriate public education as they advance from one grade to another.· Help ensure that a child with special needs is educated in the least restrictive environment.· Help ensure a child's IEP is tailored according to your child's needs and advocate for necessary accommodations· Provide legal representation to families of children with disabilities in matters related to special education law.· Help parents thorough evaluations of their case to determine the best course of action.· Represent clients in meetings, hearings, and other proceedings related to special education disputes.Requirements:· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.· Admission to the NY state bar and in good standing.· At least 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on special education or disability rights preferred.· Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations.· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
