Sayres, a renowned leader in defense support services to the DOD, is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a current SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington, DC. This position may offer remote and/or hybrid work arrangements based on customer discretion. Responsibilities: As an Electrical Engineer supporting the shipbuilding industry, you will play a critical role in providing engineering and technical support across various stages of ship design and construction. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Concept Studies and Feasibility Studies: Conduct analysis and contribute to concept and feasibility studies related to electrical systems for ships, boats, and craft. 2. Design and Construction Activities: Collaborate in contract design activities, detail design, and construction activities, ensuring efficient and effective electrical system integration. 3. In-Service Ship Design: Participate in in-service ship design and engineering activities, providing expertise in electrical systems for maintenance and upgrades. 4. Shipboard Installation Support: Offer support for shipboard electrical system installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performance requirements. 5. Special Studies: Engage in special studies that address specific electrical system challenges and opportunities in shipbuilding. Additional Duties: 6. Power Distribution Systems: Design and analyze power distribution systems for ships, considering safety, redundancy, and operational efficiency. 7. Electrical System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other ship systems. 8. Electrical Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical safety regulations and standards throughout the shipbuilding process. 9. Shipboard Testing: Support shipboard testing of electrical systems, verifying performance and functionality. 10. Electrical System Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize electrical system performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. 11. Leadership and Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior electrical engineers in the shipbuilding team. Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. - A minimum of 5+ years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management. - Active Secret Clearance verifiable in JPAS/DISS. - Experience with Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; supervisory experience. Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates: - Master's degree in Engineering. - Professional Engineer License. - 5-14 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
