Position Description: Trinity Valley School is seeking a full-time third-grade teacher for a self-contained classroom beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates should be well-prepared to teach language arts, writing, spelling, mathematics, social studies, and science. The Lower School at Trinity Valley School: The TVS Lower School strives to create a nurturing educational experience that meets the unique social, emotional, and cognitive needs of lower school students while fostering creative problem solving, innovative thinking, and community connection each and every day. The Lower School provides a foundation of independence and leadership, and through a blend of traditional and unique programming, teachers provide students with the tools to be successful inside and outside of the classroom, and more importantly, in life. Accordingly, the school seeks candidates who love working with lower school-aged children and place students at the heart of their instructional practice. Candidates should desire to work closely with a team of talented teachers and should possess the leadership qualities to inspire, motivate, and develop the best in students. Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate will Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education. MEd is strongly preferred. Have extensive teaching experience (5 years minimum) as a lead teacher within the past three years and knowledge of varied pedagogy is required. Fully support the four main objectives of t he TVS Mission Statement . Create and promote inclusive learning spaces in which all students feel safe, honored, appreciated, and respected for who they are. Nurture a deep feeling of community through actions and attitudes. Balance caring and flexibility while holding students to high expectations in both academic endeavors and behavior. Exemplify personal and professional integrity. Work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and seek continued growth as life-long learners. Recognize, embrace, and advance institutional goals for Equity, Inclusion, and Community . Have experience and interest in developing innovative uses of technology in the classroom as well as comfort with administrative technology. Responsibilities of the position include: Candidates should be versed in elementary teaching concepts, continuously seek resources to improve practices, and be able to enrich high-achieving students while supporting and differentiating for those who need academic support. A commitment to collaboration with fellow teachers, working together in the development of curriculum and sharing of best practices. Serving on committees, helping with admissions events, attending faculty meetings, and collaborating with grade level teachers.
