Machine Shop Fork Truck Operator

Harrison Steel has an opening on first shift for a fork truck operator in its casting finishing operation. The fork truck operator is responsible for moving production castings to the next step of the process and managing the workflow of production lines. Various duties of the position includes: Inspecting and maintaining the fork truck on a daily basis Picking up and delivering castings to various processes and locations throughout the plant Working with management and other employees to meet delivery timelines Knowing part numbers and routing steps Qualifications and Skills Basic math & reading skills Makes timely decisions Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Works safely and observes all safety procedures Valid state issued driver's license required Work Environment: The employee regularly work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Also exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-weather related extreme cold, water and humidity, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The usual noise level is very loud. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must have good close, distance, and perhiperal vision, good hearing and able to use a radio, and be able to sit for long periods of time.
