Quality Assurance & Engineering - Sustaining [HYBRID] The role The purpose of this position is to lead a team of quality engineers and associates focused on the on-going quality activities required to support commercialized medical devices within the Digestive Health franchise. This role provides quality engineering leadership by: Collaborating with R&D and manufacturing on product opportunities post-commercialization, monitoring and analyzing complaint data, leading root cause corrective actions and proactively supporting business strategies. These activities include but are not limited to: Support design changes, product enhancements, material changes, and process changes; investigation of product non-conformances; communication with customers, ensure compliance to quality system requirements; support Avanos operated manufacturing facilities and supply base. General Expectations and Accountabilities: Manage self and team in accordance with expected values, behaviors, and accountabilities Actively participates in and/or facilitate the development of deliverables required to qualify product changes ensuring that customer requirements and specifications are met Actively partners with the manufacturing facilities to ensure adequate process validations are performed Maintains the Risk Management files which includes Hazards Analysis, Design FMEA, Use FMEA & Process FMEA for assigned product families Solves challenging technical problems, provides expertise in related specific field of knowledge and consults on complex issues and projects Works within cross-functional teams to lead investigation of customer product complaints Utilizes Root Cause Analysis concepts to investigate issues and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions including effectiveness checks Ensures timely closure of active complaints providing tracking and trending data Partners on Global Post Market Surveillance analysis, trending, and reporting Partners with vendors to facilitate the completion of Supplier Corrective Actions and to build quality relationships as needed Support merger and acquisitions' due diligence, integration and remediation activities as requested Develops, initiates, and implements new quality concepts, tools and strategies to improve business practices Assists with the transfer of knowledge of technical skills and is viewed as a Subject Matter Expert Support notified body and internal audits. Ensures that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported as appropriate for the position Your qualifications Required: B.S. in Engineering, Science, or equivalent (prefer Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical) Minimum of 15 years of collective experience in product development, manufacturing, and/or quality within a medical device environment Proficient in process and test method validations Proficient in Microsoft Office programs The ability to lead and influence others through effective communication The ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally to support project needs Ability to collaborate on-site in Alpharetta HQ (minimum 3 days/week) Preferred: Statistical software experience, such as Minitab The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
