The Director of Development plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and goals of TFP. This position is responsible for creating and implementing strategies to increase fundraising revenue, cultivate donor relationships, and enhance the organization's visibility and brand through marketing initiatives. The Director of Development works closely with the executive team to develop and execute comprehensive plans that drive growth and sustainability. This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the Director of Development position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving fundraising success and increasing the organization's impact in the community. You will thrive in the role if you are: • Able to independently initiate project and initiative ideas; managing projects and initiatives through to completion• Highly creative in generating new ideas and creating novel solutions• Detail-oriented, with the ability to keep track of many small moving parts across a project• Highly flexible and able to gracefully adapt to new changes• Comfortable taking the lead on projects and determining priorities in order to meet deadlines Schedule: • The typical working hours are Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week, between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm• Work is hybrid, remote and in-person options depending on the supervisor’s request and organizational needs Note: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee incumbent in this position. Compensation: The annual salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience. Benefits include a $500/month health reimbursement for employees; all regular, full-time employees accrue PTO time at a rate of 176 hours per year or 14.67 hours per month their first year; a mental health day each quarter; 9 holidays and a week-long Winter Break at the end of the year; there is a potential 1-time moving stipend. Responsibilities:Fundraising Strategy:• Develop, execute, and be accountable to annual fundraising goals.• Identify new and cultivate relationships with individual donors, major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.• Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.• Analyze fundraising data and metrics to assess progress and adjust strategies as needed.• Work with the Board, CEO, Program Director, and staff to ensure communications include stories about survivors and maximal audiences (ie the networks of the board, etc.)• Incorporate the long-term strategic vision of the organization to make expansion realistic. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:• Build and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring timely and personalized communication.• Develop strategies to acquire new donors and develop relationships to move them into recurring or major giving tracks.• Manage donor CRM platform and keep data exceptionally clean Marketing and Branding (only up to 20% of the role):• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to increase brand awareness and support fundraising efforts.• Create compelling messaging and materials that effectively communicate the organization's mission, impact, and fundraising needs.• Manage the organization's website, social media channels, email campaigns, and other digital marketing platforms.• Oversee the production of marketing collateral, including brochures, newsletters, and annual reports.• Monitor and analyze marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions. Team Leadership and Collaboration:• Supervise and support the Development team members, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.• Coordinate with other departments, such as programs and finance, to ensure alignment and integration of fundraising and marketing efforts.• Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and community engagements to promote awareness and support. Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or marketing roles, with a proven track record of success. Examples include amounts raised annually ($500,000), numbers of increased engagement for marketing, etc.• Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and impact effectively.• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and website management.• Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing and motivating teams.• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans to achieve organizational goals.• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including board members, donors, volunteers, and staff.• Knowledge of and passion for the organization's cause and mission.
