Great co-workers and a great mission with an outstanding Community Action Agency The Senior Program Specialist for the Volunteer Center is responsible for supporting the operation of all three AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteer Programs with a focus on the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and RSVP program areas. The Senior Program Specialist will provide advocacy, support, and referral information to assist volunteers, clients, community partners (volunteer sites) to be engaged in the community and remain independent as part of CTI's Foster Grandparent and RSVP programs. They will also provide administrative support for all three AmeriCorps Senior programs including coordinating time sheet tracking, stipend distribution, and training for volunteers. Responsibilities Include: Primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Foster Grandparents and RSVP programs, including but not limited to recruiting volunteers and organizational partners, coordinating schedules, managing resources, and maintaining program documentation. Supporting the Program Manager to develop and implement strategies for program expansion and enhancement. Maintaining accurate volunteer information in the volunteer database, and compiling and verifying AmeriCorps Seniors stipend and travel reimbursements for submission to the Volunteer Center Program Manager for approval for all three AmeriCorps Seniors programs. Enhancing the total project effort through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, and other senior and volunteer programs. Providing information and support to AmeriCorps Seniors Staff Specialists, Site Managers and volunteers. Assessing appropriateness and performance of volunteer stations. Attending training conferences conducted or authorized by AmeriCorps Seniors as funding allows. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Include: Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals. Associate's Degree preferred 3+ years related experience Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families. Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems. Excellent crisis management skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to have re-occurring access to vulnerable populations. Ability to successfully pass background checks as required by CTI and the Senior Corps regulations. Strong ability to problem-solve. Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships. The ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, an occasional Saturday, and to travel to local community sites in the area. Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up CTI's clientele.
