This role involves advising clients on legal rights, attending motion hearings, managing court appearances, and providing legal analysis for clients.Duties:Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents about their caseHandle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probationExperience with immigration law is highly desirableAttend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on strategiesHandle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencingManage court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and perform legal researchAnalyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedentsManage workload of cases and provide legal analysis for clients to determine case benefitsRequirements:Experience in Criminal Defense or Immigration LawExperience handling criminal cases at the state and local levelBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferredInterpersonal skills of the highest caliberA team player open to helping, strategizing, and collaborating with fellow associatesEducation Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar of CaliforniaSkills:Strong legal research and writing skillsExcellent oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage multiple cases efficientlyProficiency in legal document draftingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsJob Location:Los Angeles, CABenefits Offered:The firm offers benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent compensation package, paid parking, paid time off, and more.
