Job Summary We are looking for a Machinist to join our Eljen team in Sweetwater, Texas! The Machinist will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture machine parts and other components as required for our customers. Duties / Responsibilities Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes. Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts. Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material to be used on machines. Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors. Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise. Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area. Comply with company and industry safety standards and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills / Abilities Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining. Ability to read blueprints, plans and designs. Ability to follow instructions. Excellent mechanical skills Excellent time management skills Organizational skills and attention to detail a must. Education / Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Vocational / technical school training or apprenticeship preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and bending required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Compensation / Benefits Salary is dependent upon experience.
