Job DescriptionLearning Experience Designer, ContractorSanta Clara, CA OR New York, NY OR remoteJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Experience Designer with expertise in English composition instruction, AI systems, learning science, and product development. As a Learning Experience Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our student-facing AI-enabled technology aimed at improving student writing skills. This is a contractor position for 30 hours per week, located in Santa Clara, CA or New York, NY. Remote is possible.Responsibilities: * Utilize your extensive experience in teaching college-level English composition to develop an effective and engaging AI writing assistant. * Leverage your proficiency in generative AI systems to design, implement and evaluate prompts tailored to students' individual learning needs. * Apply strategies for guiding LLM outputs-including prompt injection, chaining and others-to drive an efficacious and engaging writing process experience. * Collaborate closely with product development teams to integrate pedagogically sound features into our student-facing writing products. * Collaborate closely with data analytics teams to track student engagement to measure learning outcomes and identify areas for iteration. * Apply your understanding of learning science to inform the design and implementation of learning strategies that maximize student motivation, engagement, and outcomes.Requirements: * Proven experience teaching or tutoring college-level English composition courses. * Experience utilizing generative AI systems to create learning prompts and materials. * Experience working collaboratively with product development teams to define, build and enhance consumer-facing educational technology. * Deep knowledge of pedagogy and learning strategies, particularly in the context of teaching composition. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced degree in Education, English, Linguistics, Computer Science, or related field. * Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, and educational technology platforms. * Knowledge of learning science and learning strategies for teaching writing. * Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) techniques and frameworks. * Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques for text generation.Contract Details:This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work remotely.
