MCS is hiring for an Construction Project Administrator in Columbus, Ga. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.The Construction Project Administrator must demonstrate the ability to read, interpret and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications for commercial electrical equipment installations. The Construction Project Administrator will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.Typical duties include: Ability to assist multiple projects and tasks at a time while paying strict attention to detail. Assist in preparation and submission of bid packages and Pre-Qualification documentation forms. Prepare submittal package for projects. Follow detailed steps to properly start a new project or contract using Builder Trend. Startup of new projects. Process new contracts, be able to read and understand basic contract language. Participate in weekly job meetings and act on meeting requirements. Apply for permits. Request and have basic knowledge of COI coverage. Process and track contract agreements and purchase orders. Process, track, and distribute Change Orders to contractors. Maintain Projects and Contracts Lists for different tracking purposes. Serve as primary point of contact for all contractors, correspondence and communication to ensure receipt properly executed copies of all documents. Initiate, process and properly complete projects Close Out. Perform general administrative tasks Required: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks/projects with little supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Excel, Word) Basic knowledge of Construction Drawings and Specifications. Understanding of Submittals and its process a must. Construction experience required. 5+ years' experience in construction project administration with a minimum of 3 years in COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment. Strong organizational skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks. Self-starter and strong ethical standards. Takes initiative within area of responsibility.Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, Apprenticeship training preferred.Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Base Pass ... clear background for base access.Experience Requirements: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks/projects with little supervision. Equipment and Machines General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment. General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment. This position may require the operation of motor vehicles as an essential job function. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial. Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position. Other Essential Functions Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
