About Madison State Hospital: Madison State Hospital is located in a rural area overlooking the Ohio River and has served the citizens of Indiana for over a century, opening its door to patients in 1910. As part of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospital Network, our staff offer comprehensive treatment programs utilizing a Trauma Informed Care approach. Patients admitted for treatment can participate in individual therapy, medication therapy, family therapy, psycho:educational groups, rehabilitation therapies, chaplain services, co:occurring programming, as well as employment opportunities. U nit:based programming is augmented with campus:wide specialty groups. MSH has been a state leader in evidenced:based medication prescribing to both reduce the risks associated with polypharmacy and optimize clinical outcomes. The hospital clinical and medical leadership collaborate with the unit treatment teams to provide the most contemporary and comprehensive care possible. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at 53,222.00but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Role Overview: The Clinical Service Specialist 1 (CSS1) at Madison State Hospital functions as an experienced clinician with a background in mental health, social work, psychology, substance use, and/or adult therapy. The position will work with a patient population that is experiencing a serious mental illness with possible co:occurring disorders of substance use and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. Responsibilities will include initial assessment of patients, recommendations for therapeutic interventions, provide counseling and therapy, and effectively monitor the patient status. This position will be expected to work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary treatment staff to deliver evidence:based therapeutic interventions. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: :Ensures proper assessment of children placed in residential facilities or receiving other therapeutic services and works with partner agencies to identify goals and establish timetables and plans to meet the child's treatment objectives.:Administers and evaluates psychological tests and makes recommendations for services and/or ensures appropriate therapeutic interventions are being administered.:Evaluates cases to identify therapeutic treatment and service needs, which may include placement, of children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and placed under the agency's supervision.:Consults with agency staff and attorneys regarding the assessment and therapeutic treatment of children and adolescents.:Reviews medications being administered to children and consult with the appropriate psychiatrist when questions arise.:May administer, assess or evaluate psychological assessments and/or review therapeutic interventions of parents for the purpose of developing or ensuring a holistic approach to address family needs and support th
