Position Overview: This position reports to the Inventory Control Department and is responsible for quality standards established for the overall conformity of the product in inventory. Quality can include product packaging, dye lot, thickness of material and other characteristics. Observance to established SOP's and work instructions by other departments and Team members. The position requires good mathematics skills and the ability to work independently during the shift. The successful candidate will have good analytical skills that result in the ability to properly perform transactions in the Dynamics GP system and Sales Pad. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Place product on hold, and release/transfer product based on disposition. In case of issues or defects, working with the Operations Team and other supporting departments to determine and implement corrective actions to avoid the reoccurrence of defects. Maintain accurate daily quality log; distribute to Ops, CS, and Purchasing. Review quality issues and determine the level of severity and engage with Resolutions Team. Document quality issues, and communicate with Operations and Customer Service. Identify, communicate, and execute process improvements to help prevent internal quality issues. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of quality performance. Provide project assistance for additional tasks as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory duties. Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in quality assurance, operations, or a related field. Able to execute tasks to meet deadlines Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of the incoming and outgoing products to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables. Ability to work well in teams. Strong communication skills. Good mathematics skills using a calculator. Basic excel skills. PIT experience with reach truck and any other PIT equipment as required. Ability to lift fifty pounds and a solid understanding of team lift policies. Process improvement skills Physical Tasks: Re-box salvaged products into new boxes. Recycle damaged products. Measure product thickness using calipers. Set up and operate tape machines. Generate item labels and pallet labels. Perform mold remediation from the product. Take dye lot photos between lots for comparison. Upload the photos to Sales Pad interactions or email as required. Restack unsafe pallets. Reset, clean and level pallets of material in locations. Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding). Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Normal setting for this job is an industrial manufacturing/distribution center.
