Job Description Technology Engineer, Wet Milling - Clinton, IAWet Mill Corn Processing Plant - Milling Department.ADM Corn Technology Group.This is a full-time, exempt level position.Position Summary:The Carbohydrate Solutions Wet Milling Technology Group supports plant process areas related to the deconstruction of corn into its primary components, including the following:Corn starchCorn germCorn gluten mealCorn fiberSteepwaterThese are produced through the following primary unit operations:SteepingSulfur dioxide productionGrindingDisk stack centrifugesScrew pressesPressure screeningGravity screeningHydrocyclonesConveyingRotary vacuum filtrationEvaporationPumpingThis position will primarily support the continuous improvement and optimization of the Clinton, IA Wet Milling department, while also sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across ADM's other corn Wet Milling and dry grinding facilities in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. The technology engineer will apply engineering principles to new and existing facilities with tasks ranging from process design to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. They will ensure plant process systems are designed, built, operated, and maintained at safe and optimal levelsThe technology engineer will play a critical role in helping ADM achieve its energy intensity and sustainability goals through improvements in reliability, efficiency and yield recovery.Essential Job Functions:Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture; promote continuous process safety improvementBenchmark the location's milling process versus internal and external best in class technologies and drive improvementsManage and prioritize the Wet Milling department's project portfolio through Wave in cooperation with the Department Superintendent and the Wet Milling Technology ManagerDevelop and maintain a 5-year project portfolio to include capital budgeting and execution while maintaining a balance between NDE (non-discretionary expenditures), Cost Improvement, and productivity/growthWork in collaboration with the Global Technology Group teams to ensure alignment of technology for process improvementsExplore, evaluate, propose, and/or champion new process technologies and equipment suppliersWork within Carbohydrates Technology Group to replicate best practices, standardize operations, and share standard methodologies across Wet Milling locations globallyAssist and provide technical support to Wet Milling department operations in solving technical process problems; Contribute to technical knowledge development and sustainment by engaging in training and guidance documentsSupport and collaborate with the Wet Milling department in setting up goals and KPI'sWork closely with company subject matter experts on the implementation of innovative approaches to plant operation and maintenanceAct as a resource for plant process engineers through coaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessionsRequired Skills:Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of othersStrong knowledge of process unit operations, including (but not limited to) the following: steeping, grinding, centrifuges, conveying, rotary vacuum filtration, screw presses, gravity and pressure screening, hydrocyclones, pumping, and production of sulfur dioxideExperience with process optimization using analytical processes and toolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers, operators, and managementWorking knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Material & Energy Balances, and control narrativesWillingness to spend time in plant areas - tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and move through close spacesAbility to work effectively on a team, as well as independently, while traveling to remote plant locations to provide support on site as deemed necessaryHigh level of motivation and results-oriented way of workingRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's of Science Degree in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical disciplineMinimum 3-5 years of experience with industrial plant process production systemsAbility to travel with overnight staysPreferred Qualifications:Production/Process/Project Engineer with operations supervision experience Excited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
