About theRichmond State Hospital: Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within theFamily and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services. Salary Information: This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of 41,210.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. About the Job: Asa Special Attendant, you will provide care and support to patients by encouraging involvement in groups, social activities, and other therapeutic measures.In this position, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals to determine and provide the best care practices. You will also maintain a safe and secure environment through de:escalation techniques and will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the patients on the unit. A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows: :Ensure security of residents and maintain orderliness which occasionally requires restraining unruly, dangerous residents.:Escort residents to and from various activity and therapy areas within building and off:grounds for medical, dental, or legal needs ensuring maximum security.:Assist in the implementation of resident's treatment plan.:Monitor patients during meals, classroom time, bathroom time, and in general areas.:Observe, report, and record the condition and behavior of residents.:Demonstrate therapeutic interventions using the principles of de:escalation, re:direction, and approved techniques for prevention and management of behavior.:Assist residents in cleaning and caring for their living areas, clothing, and
