This position will operate on a remote , freelance basis . Are you a Gaming Hardware Enthusiast with a background in writing? HowToGeek.com is looking for a Feature Writer to cover Gaming Devices for the website. This includes how-to guides covering various gaming consoles - specifically the PS5, the Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch. That said, you can write across any section of the site in which you have first-hand expertise! About Us How-To Geek is an online technology publication with tens of millions of readers each month. Our readers love How-To Geek because of its unique voice. We’re not a website for geeks—we are the geeks. We’re the people you turn to when your computer isn’t working right, you need to do something technical, or you want to understand the latest gadgets—and which are the best ones to buy. We explain it all in simple, approachable terms. How-To Geek is for everyone. Our target audience are everyday consumers who are interested in tech; we write for the lay-people, not industry insiders. For example, our readers are the "Should You Upgrade to a Wi-Fi 7 Router?" crowd. Not the "Wi-Fi 7 Routers Will Usher In the IoT Market Penetration Shift" crowd. Our Gaming vertical teaches people how to fix, use, or do unique things with their gaming apps, consoles, and services: Should You Upgrade to the New Slim PS5?, How to Download and Install Steam on Linux, and Customize Your Xbox, PS5 or Switch Console with Wraps, Stickers and More. Expectations: Write a minimum of 8 feature articles per month , with no upper limit You will be assigned articles and have the ability to claim ideas, however, once you are comfortable with the content we publish on the site, we welcome you to pitch your own ideas Stay up to date on the latest Gaming tech news, products and updates Input work into our in-house system and format images according to our guidelines What we're looking for: Relevant experience in writing and editing in the English language Expert knowledge on all things Gaming Technology (with specific expertise in one or a few of the following consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch) Knowledge of other tech (a plus) Application Requirements: CV, Cover Letter, Screening Questions In your Cover Letter, please address the following questions: - Why do you want to write for How-To Geek? - What makes you the right fit for this role?
