Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide care for a quadriplegic student who sustained injuries in a high-speed car accident. The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency in ventilator/tracheostomy management, as the student is dependent on a vent, trach, cough assist, and suction for respiratory support. Responsibilities: Provide skilled nursing care to a quadriplegic student with neurologically intact status.Manage ventilator, tracheostomy, cough assist, and suction devices as per prescribed protocols.Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the healthcare provider.Assist with activities of daily living, including feeding via G-tube for overnight feeds.Perform intermittent straight catheterization every 3-4 hours to empty the student's bladder.Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation.Communicate effectively with the student's healthcare team, school personnel, and parents/guardians regarding the student's health status and care needs.Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
