The Basics: : High School Diploma or GED required: At least 3 years of experience working in a steel mill, aluminum mill, foundry, or similar environment: Hands:on experience and knowledge in one or more of the following manufacturing processes:stylelist:style:type:circle:: Melt Shop: Casting: Furnace Operations: Rolling Mill: Roll Grinding: Hot Strip Mill: Annealing: Cold Rolling Mill: Pickling: Temper Mill: Roughing Mill: Finishing Mill: Coil Slitters: Crane Operators (In Cab Overhead/Hot Metal): Plant Maintenance (Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical/Powerhouse): Advanced knowledge of tools and equipment used for industrial purposes, to include cranes, fork trucks, heavy machinery, and hand and power tools required: Basic math and reading comprehension skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word): Qualified (or ability to qualify in) all lift equipment including pendant/remote cranes and forklifts: Knowledge of measurement devices: Basic computer skills: Ability to be a self:starter, follow directions, and work in a team environment The Extras : Knowledge of continuous process lines: Knowledge of HMI (Human Machine Interface) System: Basic knowledge of chemicals and handling: Certification in operation of heavy machinery such as fork truck, crane, etc. desired TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL : Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments: Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives: Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement: Makes good and timely decisions to keep the organization moving forward WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING : Operate and monitor steel equipment : Coordinate and work with all mill personnel in maintaining mill production: Perform routine maintenance; assist maintenance personnel: Monitor and notify supervision and maintenance personnel of any abnormal job and equipment conditions: Operate and maintain mobile equipment to include pendant remote cranes, overhead cranes, and fork trucksstylelist:style:type:circle:: Training will be provided: Perform all other duties, as assigned YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT : Industrial setting in the Hot Strip Mill, Cold Rolling Mill, or Hot Dip Galvani
