Job Title: Supervisor -Construction & Maintenance -GasReports To: Manager - Gas OperationsLocation: East Hartford, CTBusiness Area: Connecticut Natural GasThe base salary range for this position is $97,504 to $126,755 and is dependent upon experience and location.Qualifications: (minimum qualifications for assignment to this job) Education: Associate degree and 5 years of underground Construction andMaintenance experience or a High School diploma and 10 years ofConstruction and maintenance experience. Supervisory experience of a unionand non-union workforce is preferred.CDL-B minimumBasic office skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office) Purpose: Supervises employees in constructing, operating, and maintaining.gas distribution and transmission systems. Oversees, plans,and schedules new construction work, preventive and correctivemaintenance, inspections, and training activities. Ensures thatconstruction and maintenance are complete following constructionstandards, following approved policies, procedures, safetyrules, and budgets. May interact with customers (internal & and external) to solve problems/concerns and ensure customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Supervises both Company employees and subcontractor crews, in theconstruction, operation, and maintenance of gas distributionsystems.Plans, schedules, and directs new construction work, preventivemaintenance work inspects and performs corrective maintenance ongas facilities and provides safety training to the assigned crews.Ensures that construction and maintenance are completed in accordancewith construction standards, following approved policies,procedures and safety rules.May interact with customers (internal & and external) to solveproblems/concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.Prepares damage reports as-built drawings, leak reports, time sheets,company accident reports and other paperwork necessary tocomplete jobs and account for work completed.Provides insight, and experience and explores new technologies to improvemethods and techniques to achieve improved departmentefficiency.Knowledge of underground gas construction, properties of natural gas,bargaining unit labor agreements, gas leak detection methodsand procedures, CBYD regulations, State and federal pipeline safetyregulations, Hazmat, and OSHA are preferred. Ability to readconstruction maps and drawings, mechanical ability, oral and writtencommunication skills, Organization and planning skills arerequired. Must have a valid driver's license. May require various DOTOperator Qualifications. Must be available for response duringafter-hours to work storms, emergencies, and critical assignments.
