Across these technology areas we provide full lifecycle services: strategy, design, implementation and operations.IDS engineers are based in Washington, DC and St. Louis, MO and are experienced working with US Government installations across the US, Europe and Asia Job Summary We are seeking a TS/SCI cleared Senior Storage Engineer for a new 6 year contract with an Intelligence Community agency in Chantilly, VA. Responsibilities and Duties Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade and support various storage and backup appliances and associates management tools. Configure and deploy various storage platforms Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologies Adhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as required Participate in the evaluation, deployment and management of new technologies in alignment with other engineers and architects Incident support and participation in on-call rotation during off hours and weekends Create and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books and other technical engineering documents Consistently demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processes Oversee the Installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating procedures Oversees the updates to hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and security Ensures systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, utilization, etc. are collected and regularly reviewed Keeps abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technology Required Qualifications and Skills BS degree and 8+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination Hands on engineering experience with NetApp storage, Brocade and/or Cisco Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks, and other storage technologies and concepts Experience with SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage implementations Experience designing, installing and supporting storage appliances and associated management utilities Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies Senior level experience configuring and deploying various storage platforms Strong experience with design, development, implementation, and maintenance of storage systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow Strong experience with design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environment Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc. Understanding of security best practices, federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.) System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification Strong written and oral communication skills Desired Qualifications and Skills NetApp Certification PowerShell scripting experience Benefits and Perks Compensation Industry competitive salary well above market average 401K plan with 4% company match, immediately fully vested Referral bonuses up to $5,000 100% company-paid benefits Gold PPO Medical plan for employee + family Vision and Dental plan for employee + family Short Term Disability for employee Long Term Disability for employee Life Insurance for employee Flexible Paid Time Off Policy 180 hours (minimum) per year of PTO with additional time at manager discretion 10+ Company Holidays per year 6 weeks paid maternity and paternity leave Flexible work environment to accommodate commuting, family and personal schedules Career Growth Company sponsored training and certifications No questions asked professional/business/technical book reimbursement Company paid training and conference attendance and travel expenses Culture High speed, low drag environment - exceptional client service with minimal internal bureaucracy Regular quarterly company sponsored events and meet ups Annual company holiday party Powered by JazzHR
