We are seeking a supervisor to oversee our Foster Grandparent Program. JOB SUMMARY The Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the Foster Grandparent Program. The Supervisor functions as a working project manager, actively involved with community organizations and volunteers. DUTIES Provide education, assessment, and ongoing support to the foster grandparents and foster grandchildren. Serve as the point of contact for foster grandparents, coordinate and schedule visits between the foster grandparent and the foster grandchildren. Coach foster grandparents in verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques and be available by phone to offer assistance when needed. Maintain a warm and professional relationship with the foster grandparents. Perform associated office work, such as compiling statistics, preparing reports, maintaining files as necessary. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associate’s degree will be considered. Two (2) years supervisory experience. Training and/or experience in work with those over 55 years of age and volunteers. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Program planning and evaluation. Computer and software applications (Windows, MS Office, Internet applications, etc.) necessary to perform the duties of the position. Strong interest and experience in community relations required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for written reports and giving oral presentations and trainings. High commitment to the field of aging.
