Role Overview Promote and encourage the values of Grace Northridge Anglican Church as it pertains to families by providing resources, training, and counseling based upon the Holy Scriptures and agreed-upon theological and philosophical views of the church. Shepherd and lead in relationships with children and their parents using proactive, invitational conversations. Primary Supervisor: Rector (Senior Pastor) Secondary Supervisor: Worship PastorFull-time (40 hours); salary with benefits.Most hours on-site; some hours can be remote. Main Responsibilities Relationships Pray for, know, and build relationships with children, students (middle and high school), and families of Grace Northridge Anglican Church. Oversee and direct discipleship opportunities for children, students, and parents. Oversee and collaborate with the Student Ministry Director, focusing on integration between late elementary and early junior high. Serve as a catalyst for spiritual growth, leading by example and by articulating faith at Children's Ministry and Student Ministry gatherings, as well as in everyday conversations with children and their families. Review attendance regularly and follow up with families who have been absent recently. Programs Develop, implement, and oversee Sunday morning programming for infants through 5th grade, utilizing Gods Big Story curriculum. Develop, oversee, and collaborate with the Student Ministry Director to implement seasonal mid-week Spiritual Formation classes. Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers to disciple and provide spiritual care and programming for children. Ensure that adult volunteers working with children and students are in compliance with relevant safety policies and procedures. Work with the Ministry Coordinator and other staff to schedule volunteers for Sunday mornings and special events. Schedule and coordinate contracted childcare workers to ensure coverage of the nursery each Sunday and for special programming. Schedule/Plan/Oversee age-appropriate events that may include, but are not limited to: Back to School Celebrations Advent/Christmas Special Event Programming Holy Week/Easter Special Event Programming Vacation Bible School Logistics Create systems to maintain and update children, students, and volunteer databases, eventcalendars, and church website. Communicate consistently with parents and volunteers both in writing and in person. Communicate with the Rector and church staff in such a way that they stay informed and enthusiastically supportive of the priorities and programs of the children and student ministry. Provide support in strategic planning toward achieving the goals agreed upon for areas of oversight. Prepare and oversee Childrens Ministry and Student Ministry budget(s) and contribute to the annual Ministry Plan church-wide document. Staff Participation Attend weekly staff team meetings. Meet regularly with the Direct Supervisor (either Rector or another pastor). Meet regularly with the Student Ministry Director. Attend other staff gatherings as directed. Be an active leader and participant in the life of the church, including worship, church-wide events, and other programs, as requested. Requirements Vibrant walk with the Lord and ability to share with others their personal relationship with Jesus. General knowledge of Scripture and Christian doctrine, and a mature prayer life. Bachelor's Degree 2+ years teaching in a school setting or directing Childrens Ministry. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to operate within a team-oriented environment. Creativity, initiative, adaptability, and resourcefulness. Ability to lead and manage students of any age in a classroom environment. Adherence to the Anglican Mission in Americas traditional Christian teaching regarding the uniqueness of Christ, authority of the Bible, marriage and sexuality, and other tenets articulated in the Jerusalem Declaration .
