Job Title: Quality Inspector Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Quality Inspector to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia! Successful Candidates will be expected to: Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database. Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and call for repairs. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and comply with legal regulations. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Qualifications/Required Experience: High school diploma Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments One to two years’ quality inspector experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to read blueprints Basic Computer and Math Skills are required Job Type: Full-Time position, which includes health, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a company matched 401K plan Additional: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by the employee assigned to this position.
