Practice Area: Finance - Banking ,Finance - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 4 Years, Job Overview: A law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience with complex finance transactions, particularly in sponsor-backed leveraged finance. They will be responsible for running fundamental aspects of transactions, from due diligence through closing, and will represent borrowers, lenders, and/or agents in a broad range of finance transactions.Duties:Serve as a key member of deal teams, taking responsibility for essential aspects of transactions.Conduct thorough due diligence processes and ensure all relevant documentation is in order.Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to finance transactions.Provide legal counsel to clients regarding financial matters and regulatory compliance.Collaborate with partners and senior associates to achieve client objectives efficiently and effectively.Requirements:4-7 years of experience with complex finance transactions.Substantial experience in sponsor-backed leveraged finance.Experience representing borrowers, lenders, and/or agents in various finance transactions.Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Illinois State Bar.Skills:Strong understanding of finance law and regulations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional drafting and negotiation abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This is a branch office of an exciting national law firm with nationwide litigation practice in general trial and appellate practice before state and federal courts, insurance coverage litigation and counseling, directors and officers liability, professional liability, environmental/mass tort coverage, white collar criminal defense, real estate and golf course development, biotech, and general business counseling. The Chicago office is focused on insurance coverage litigation and counseling for clients in Chicago and the Midwest. The lawyers of this small office seem to truly enjoy working together. The hours are manageable, and the compensation is above average. Associates must have a strong interest in insurance matters. The firm hires from both regional and national law schools.
