Key Responsibilities: We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented attorney to assume primary ownership of mission-critical functions in sales and a variety of legal areas, focusing on technology contracting. A successful applicant will be able to interface with customers and stakeholders across the organization, proactively address the needs of the business, and report to and consult with managers on a timely basis. We are breaking new ground in many ways and look for a “can do” attitude that will drive to identification and resolution of problems. Contract Review/Sales Support Review and negotiate technology contracts Review and negotiate inbound vendor contracts Review and negotiate NDAs Maintain contract database and legal records Work with Sales and Finance to finalize agreements, construct complex rate plans, and address ad hoc legal questions Collect approvals and collaborate with our paralegal to coordinate contract execution Product Develop a deep understanding of new and existing SaaS products Create and update legal documents for the sale and delivery of SaaS products Collaborate closely with the Product team Corporate Governance Issue and track paperwork for new stock option grants, option exercises, and send out year-end tax notices Understand complex capitalization structure and respond to management and stockholder requests for information Manage global legal entity maintenance with the support of our paralegal Minimum Requirements You have a J.D. from an accredited law school and are a member of the Illinois Bar You have 5-8 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with 1-3 years of in-house experience at a technology company You are comfortable working globally, across cultures and time zones You should be able to do some domestic and international travel for the company (1-3 times per year) Preferred Requirements: You are passionate about the IoT industry and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment You are a self-starter, well organized and eager to master technology tools, including a contract lifecycle management system You are able to communicate your opinions with confidence to stakeholders across the organization, yet know your limits and when to ask for help Aeris operates in office full-time, 5 days a week.Aeris walks the walk on diversity.
