General Laborer Responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials in accordance with all Company policies, procedures, and standards of operation. Responsible for working with other facility personnel to ensure the facility is operated and maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. Applicants must live in South Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area • Full-Time • Schedule Monday-Friday /Some Weekends• PTO (paid time off)• Sick Time• Paid Holidays Responsibilities: Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities: Function/Responsibility:A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:• Clean up site• Clean all on site equipment• Perform yard work, including blowing customer area and trash removal• Operate general site equipment (Blowers, pressure washers)• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.• Work overtime and rotating shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time• Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace• Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings• Experience in a landfill, transfer station, or waste experience preferred.• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.• Ability to be self directed as well as work in a team environment.• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.• Other duties as assigned Competencies: • Ability to complete safety, operational, and other required training with a scheduled time period• Communication skills sufficient to complete required job functions• Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills sufficient to complete regular routine tasks• Demonstrated success in the use of required safety equipment Qualifications: Hiring Requirements/Preferences: • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.• Minimum of 6 months related experience in an industrial environment is required.
