Job Responsibilities This position is accountable for the planning, implementation, and coordination of Day Labor projects statewide involving construction, reconstruction, specialized and emergency repair of road/bridges, and related facilities on the state highway system. Operating budget: 15,150,000Steel inventory: 800,000Equipment inventory: 12,700,000Number of projects: 120+ annually This position reports to the Engineer of Day Labor. Reporting to this position are the Operations Superintendent and Resource Management Technician. This position works in an environment that coordinates on a statewide basis for specialized road/bridge maintenance, construction, and repair activities requested by the districts for projects that are too large or complex to be performed by the districts' highway maintenance forces. These projects cant be contracted due to emergency situations or other comparable conditions. This position is also responsible for providing assistance and expertise in structural problems relating to maintenance and repair of bridges. A typical problem and greatest challenge for this position entails planning, estimating, scheduling, and ensuring completion of high priority project
