As an attorney, this means providing excellent legal services utilizing creative strategies and billing 1550 hours annually. We believe in pay equity and value each team member. We take pride in providing a comprehensive benefits package, including: • Health insurance contributions, featuring a platinum plan with vision and dental coverage• 401k with contribution (4% match)• Life insurance policy• Short-term disability coverage• Cell phone allowance• Unlimited paid time off• Reimbursement for approved continuing legal education, bar dues, and select voluntary bar memberships Responsibilities:• Bill 1550 hours toward client matters each year.• Manage family law cases within the firm's established policies and procedures.• Provide exceptional customer service by providing clear and comprehensive legal advice to clients.• Take full ownership of developing strategies for clients' cases.• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, trial memoranda, motions, discovery requests, marital settlement agreements, and prenuptial agreements.• Perform detailed legal research to support case strategies.• Review discovery responses, financial statements, and evaluations carefully when considering case strategy.• Present persuasive arguments in court during trials, hearings, and settlement discussions--always having a theme for each and every case.• Lead negotiations and mediations on behalf of clients.• Collaborate effectively with team members to address clients' multifaceted needs--legal assistants and paralegals should be given clear tasks and clear deadlines to ensure an appropriate workflow for each case.• Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions and legal proceedings.• Stay updated on family law statutes and precedents, remaining informed of any changes in the field.• Understand and subscribe to the motto: "he (or she) who is reasonable wins the day". Qualifications:• You must be licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland. The ideal candidate will also be licensed in DC and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia.• You are excellent at time management and know how to maximize the use of your calendar to ensure that your billable targets are met, your legal assistant and paralegal are clear on their tasks, and you deliver an incredible client experience.• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing legal education.• You can develop the strategy of a case based on the goals of the client, and you know where to find the rules and case law to back up that case strategy.• You are comfortable in a courtroom and know how to project confidence and competence when representing our clients.• You excel at setting realistic expectations for our clients and managing those expectations as the case progresses. You need to be able to help a client understand whether they really want to spend $500 to fight with their ex over a $50 lamp.• Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations.• You can deal with a CEO who is always busy, might not give much direction, might get distracted by new, exciting things, and is focused on results.• ·You appreciate the value of streamlined policies and procedures to ensure that the work product remains high-level and consistent.• You are comfortable with technology and appreciate how it makes our services more accessible to our clients and collaboration between team members easier.• Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus Compensation: $90,000 - $145,000 yearly based on years of experience About Company: We are Z Family Law, and we don't write endings -- We Create New Beginnings.
