Mission Statement: The Mission Child Care Consortium, Inc. seeks to provide high quality care to children in educational environments, which promote optimal development in the areas of: community, cultural and linguistic diversity, creativity, literacy, numeracy, and science.To provide high quality care and education for low-income families who are working towards economic sustainability through work, school, or on the job training programs.To provide high quality work and education experiences for staff that are interested in understanding and facilitating developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education. Responsibilities: -To establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environmentSupervises children at all timesMaintains a safe environment in the classroom and playgroundReports accidents, thefts, and other unusual occurrences or incidents immediately to the Program Director and/or Site Manager Maintains Community Care Licensing (CCL) standards and regulationsFollows security procedures for safety measuresConducts health checks for all the children in the classroom on a daily basisProvide and Implement the Pick up and Drop off procedures of children to the lobby for parents at pick up and drop off time-To advance physical and intellectual competenceEnsures positive teacher/child interactions and relationships in the classroomWorks with the teacher to plan lessons and activities appropriate to children's developmental levelsDoes circle timeGive input for field trip Provide Remote Distance Learning and staff coverage. -To support social and emotional development and provide positive guidanceUses age appropriate, positive guidance techniques and models behavior for childrenUses Positive Descriptive Acknowledgement (PDA) as guidance to model behavior for children. Submits documentation on children as needed to the Program Director or Site Manager.Works with teacher on appropriate developmental expectations for the age groupResponsible for providing documentation for inclusion children-To establish positive and productive relationships with familiesBuilds positive relationship with parents/guardians and respects their cultural differencesAssists Parent/Teacher conferencesEncourages parents/guardians to participate in the program -To ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needsMaintains classroom supplies and materials needed for the classroomMaintains and implements Lesson PlansCompletes DRDP paperwork and proceduresParticipates in staff teamwork, works productively and cooperatively as well as communicates with other staff and parents.Practices good communication skillsKnowledge of activities developmentally appropriate to age group. Ability to be flexible with daily routines and schedules to capture “nurturing and teachable moments”.Works with the teaching team to understand appropriate developmental expectations of the age group in the classroomWill be a positive role model for all Teaching Staff and Children.Follows and implements California Department of Education (CDE), Nutrition Service Division (NSD), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Requirements and Regulations Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.Attends in service sessions, trainings and workshops as required and needed.-To maintain professional demeanor at all timesFlexible to change of work schedule Promotes the organization’s and center’s philosophy and objectivesObtains and upgrades to Teacher or Associate permitRemains flexible about staffing scheduleAble to work collaboratively and cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, and other professionalsMaintain confidentiality on all matters concerning the children, parents and other staff members.-Physical requirementAble to lift fifty (50) poundsAbility to go up and down stairs with no limitation Must be in good health and able to pass a physical exam Demonstrates the ability to meet required state, federal, local and MCCC standards (including, but not limited to, fingerprinting clearance, negative TB test, First Aid/CPR)Other duties as assigned to provide assistance to the Site Manager and Program Director or as directed by the Executive Director. Qualification Requirement: Must be a High School Graduate. Knowledgeable and experienced with the field of Early Childhood Education, and Child development.Must meet be willing to take 12-21 units Early Childhood Education / Child Development (ECE/CD) units including core courses as outlined in the Child Development Permit Matrix System issued by the Commission on Teacher CredentialingEmployee has valid Associate Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, State of California, Sacramento, CaliforniaApplicant requirements Bilingual able to speak, read, write, and understand the Spanish Language. Position Details Office Location: San FranciscoStart date: ImmediatelyCompensation: $28.00-$29.00 per hourStatus: Non-exempt, full-time, 40 hours per weekReports to: Program Director, Site Manager, Lead Teacher, TeacherBenefits: 403 (b) Retirement Plan, Medical Health and Dental Plan, and Commuting Benefits
