Plaza Of Americas (31012), United States of America, Dallas, TexasSr. Manager- Underwriting and Portfolio ManagementThe Underwriting and Portfolio Management organization is responsible for working with internal partners to underwrite new transactions and manage the existing portfolio of loans. Our Underwriters and Portfolio Managers balance supporting the Commercial's Bank's growth and ensuring we have a scalable, well-managed business. This role supports the Regional Commercial Bank.As an Underwriter & Portfolio Manager III, you will demonstrate subject matter expertise in credit risk management and are expected to perform responsibilities independently. In addition to your own job duties, you will play a leadership role across deal teams by guiding and shaping more junior associates. You are trusted with the most complex transactions or solve unique problems because of your experience and job specific skills. Primary underwriting responsibilities may include : Lead due diligence process and calls; evaluate industry research to draw relevant conclusions on material strengths, risks, and mitigantsAssist less experienced team members in financial statement analysis and cash flow analysisPrepare and review financial models independentlyCoordinate with deal team on appropriate structuring options or overrides to financial modelsWrite and prepare all parts of the credit approval memorandum ; review work of less experienced members of the team; take a leadership role in conversations with internal partnersOversee closing process requirements; prepare and review closing memoPrepare term sheets, commitment letters and fee letters with minimal guidance; understand majority of provisions of all credit documents and can provide rationale; negotiate credit docs with customers and internal stakeholdersDrive overall deal process and lead communication with internal and external constituents; constructively improve deal processDelegate spreading and risk ratings to analysts or contractor teamsReview pricing models independently; understand drivers for pricing model outputs and consider areas for increasing returns Primary portfolio or asset management responsibilities may include : Manage a portfolio of accounts independently; review and monitor portfolio accounts' health and performance against expectations; drive customer retentionProactively anticipate issues, draw parallels from other accounts to own account; resolve problem accounts in partnership with other teams and specialistsComplete annual reviews and both material and non-material modifications independently and on timeFacilitate and leads quarterly portfolio reviewsEnsure compliance with credit policies and procedures for existing accountsRespond to requests from all internal and external stakeholdersEnsure portfolio data is accurate, timely, and complete to ensure strong quality and reporting capabilities Additional Responsibilities may include: Build relationships across function and business to foster collaboration between partner groupsInteract directly with customers to cultivate strong relationships while balancing risk and returnMentor and train rotational analysts and new hiresParticipate in internal initiatives to ensure the business is well-managed and operates efficiently Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Military ExperienceAt least 5 years of experience in credit underwriting or at least 5 years of experience in portfolio management or at least 5 years of experience in asset management Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics7+ years of experience in credit underwriting or portfolio or asset managementPrevious leadership (informal or formal) experience with deal teams or analysts #UWPM At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
