The mission of the Mental Health Association is to promote mental health, with the integration of physical healthcare, to improve the care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, and to remove the stigma associated with mental health disorders and addictions. MHA is seeking a Part-time Community Crisis Response Trainer to join our Team! Benefits of working at the Mental Health Association: Joining the staff of supportive and team oriented individuals MHA is an approved site for the New Jersey Behavioral Healthcare Provider Loan Redemption Program. Competitive Pay Location : City of Newark Qualifications Individual must possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college of university in social work, rehabilitation counseling, or other related behavioral healthcare or counseling program. Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record. Ability to provide education on effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health/justice involved individuals in the community. LSW, LAC, LPC or LCSW preferred. Knowledge of City of Newark resources is helpful. Responsibilities Provide training in order to increase knowledge on topics of evidence-based practices, mental health, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and challenges related to homelessness and other topics as needed. Train public safety telecommunications staff to obtain accurate information from callers who are experiencing a mental health crisis Collaborate with team to plan and develop appropriate trainings Attend regularly scheduled meetings: supervision, agency/city meetings, and training(s) as assigned. Responsible for collecting and analyzing data. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
