Job Title: Trainer Associate Reports to: Associate Director of Learning and Development Direct Reports: None Salary Range: $25.00 - $32.00 Schedule : 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (with some variation possible). May need to be available on weekends. Position Information: Trainers are responsible for supporting expanded learning staff with technical assistance, knowledge/skill building training as well as professional development to ensure the delivery of high-quality programming, and ongoing development of emerging industry practices. Trainers will research and identify promising practices to create and facilitate training that supports high quality program programming. In collaboration with the Learning and Development team, trainers will develop virtual and in-person instructor-led trainings including the creation and development of all learning materials and guides (PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, handouts, etc.) on topics such as: SEL (social-emotional learning), behavior and restorative practices, youth engagement promising practices, culture building, relationship development, program leadership and more. In collaboration with Learning Leads, Trainers will work on developing and facilitating Specialty Program Academies Content Areas include STEM, Sports and Fitness, Outdoor Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Civic Engagement and Leadership, SEL (Social Emotional Learning), Junior Ranger Powered by STEAM (Kinder-second grade), and Older Youth (MS/HS) programming. Trainers will also help create training that is replicable by providing train the trainer workshops for scalability purposes. The Trainer position is a hybrid position, including working in person, at school sites and remotely. Overall Responsibilities: • Identify or develop and facilitate/ deliver training material in support of high-quality programing and staff development.• Evolve and facilitate/deliver existing training as part of staff support including ongoing New Hire Orientation and additional follow-up training as needed.• Research best practices in youth development to inform content development and ongoing training evolution.• Collaborate with Learning Team and Program Team to identify organizational, program, and team needs.• Collaborate with Learning Team and Program Team to coordinate training logistics.• Identify and coordinate potential partners that would provide additional training for staff.• Lead any “train-the- trainer" academies and/or training that may be needed.• Development and implementation of program support tools and resourcesas needed.• Work with Associate Director of Learning and Development to set targets,manage projects and evaluate progress impact.• Work with Learning Team to align emerging practices and guide collective efforts.• Participate in staff development training as required, approximately 40 hours / year.• Ensure program compliance and program quality is met according to funding, partner and WR guidelines and requirements.• Exceptional presentation, consensus-building, and communication skills.• Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies including experiential learning model and learning styles approaches, and adult learning emerging practices.• Experience working with virtual learning platforms (Microsoft Power Point, Zoom, Microsoft Teams)• Organizational skills to undertake multiple assignments, identify priorities and meet deadlines.• Strong interpersonal skills including sensitivity, tact and professionalism when collaborating with team members and internal and external stakeholders.• Other related duties. Requirements: • AA Degree in Child Development or a related field is preferred or minimum of one year of experience as a group leader working with children and six units in child development.• WR will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for ALL employees providing any in-person work with staff or clients.• Enthusiastic to work well with youth development staff and/or youth.• Good oral and written communication.• Ability to travel to the various regions that have Woodcraft Rangers programs to support or deliver in person training. Regions would include San Fernando Valley, South Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Southeast LA, and Downtown areas.• Computer literacy and willingness to learn.• Stable Internet Access• Valid LIVE Scan Special Skills: Ideally, we are looking for someone who is detail oriented, energetic, ambitious, proactive, and positive, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Multi-tasking and attention to detail must be strengths this individual possesses. Individual needs to be comfortable to present and speak in front of staff and peers during in person training.
