We attract and retain premier medical professionals with competitive compensation, benefits, and a nurturing work atmosphere that unites passion and purpose.Learn more about us: https://dhip.dukehealth.org/about-us JOB LOCATION: Duke Children's Creekstone - 4709 Creekstone Dr, Durham, NC $5,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months). **Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the sign-on bonus.** JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at the Duke Children's Creekstone in Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Gynecology. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in multiple pediatric specialties and leadership encourages professional development. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide and document direct nursing care to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and according to physician orders and the nursing plan of care. Assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the performance of various diagnostic procedures. Evaluate nursing care with emphasis on nursing procedures and patient responses; assist in the delivery of nursing care and selection of nursing priorities. Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and procedures to provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients; participate in the formulation of new policies. Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipment and other material resources. Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and assists in performance improvement activities. Assist with control of material resources and maintenance; assist in appraisal of effectiveness of material and equipment and report any equipment malfunctions to charge nurse. Participate in in-service education programs and other conferences within the service. Assist in the training of new employees. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program is required. Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure and BLS Certification are required. JOB HOURS: Schedule varies with weekday start times between 7:45-8:30am and end times between 4:00-5:00pm. You may be scheduled to stay in the clinic until the last patient leaves.Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
