JCS Solutions LLC (JCS) is seeking a Sr. Scientific Support Engineer to support our federal client. This role participates as a member of our Scientific Support team, which provides End User Support (EUS) services for the scientific research community. Key Responsibilities : Provide technical support and analysis for scientific network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, and transmission systems. Performs the installation, modification, testing, and servicing on all converged network communications equipment. Effectively communicates with stakeholders, including lab personnel and IRMB oversight. Provide front-facing and back-end support to scientists and doctors in a secure medical environment. Support a wide spectrum of scientific applications and specialized network configurations. Analyze scientific systems for security vulnerabilities and provide solutions for remediation. Support other network teams with special projects, as needed. Support various scientific applications (see position and desired requirements for details) Position Requirements: Must be able to autonomously administer or use the following technologies: Windows 10 & 11 with knowledge of legacy systems like XP and Windows 7, Mac OS9 and OSX (All versions 10.1-13.5.1 Ventura) Adobe Acrobat DC Adobe Creative Cloud Active Directory (relating to desktops) JAMF (relating to desktops) ServiceNow Microsoft Office for Windows and Mac 2003 - 2019 O365 and Microsoft Teams Reimaging and Deployment - SCCM & DEP, Hardware and software troubleshooting and installation for Mac and PC Linux OSs VMware Fusion Oracle Virtual Box TCP/IP Configuration (on host), DHCP and Static IP reservation addressing (on host) VPNs (setup, troubleshooting, and configuration on the host) RDP Bomgar Teamviewer LogMeIn Desired Skills and Experience: Administering or using Windows Server 2008-2022, MS-DOS, SmartSheets, Citrix, Security applicatioons (Tenable, Cylance, Forescout, SCCM, BigFix, Cisco NAC console), and Skype for Business. Exceptional understanding and autonomy with the following hardware and/or software providers: Biowulf, Zeiss, Leica, Bio-RAD, Thermo Scientific, Li-Cor, and/or Olympus. Familiarity with the following vendors like AB Applied Biosystems, Agilent BioTek, Nexcelom BioScience, Azure Biosystems, Covaris, Illumnia, Molecular Devices, Amersham Biosciences. Advanced knowledge of any of the following software: Zen / Zen Lite, FileMaker Pro, Anaconda, DNAstar, Ape, Aperio Imagescope, Cell Profiler, Cytoscape, FlowJo, Fiji, Graphpad Prism, IGV, Image J, IPA, JMP, Latex, Licor, Loupe Cell Browser, Matlab, PClamp, Photoshop, PyMol, SAS, SPSS, R-Studio. Awareness or some knowledge of any of the following: REES systems, Seimens Systems, Mini Anaconda, Aviris, Amira, BD Accuri, Bi, Coral Draw, Cygwin, Datavyu, DragonSpeak/Dragon Naturally Speaking Premium, Fiji ImageJ, Igor, Illustrator, Imaris, Inspire, Mendeley, Metamorph, Putty, Sigmaplot, Simulink, MathCAD and AutoCAD.
