Job Overview:Utilize expertise in material science, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering to provide technical support for patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.Conduct prior art database searches, analyze scientific documents, and draft patent applications and responses to office actions.Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Duties:Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.Analyze patent and scientific documents to assist patent attorneys in patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.Provide technical expertise in material science and/or chemical engineering.Collaborate with attorneys and clients to understand technical aspects of inventions. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in material science, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering, or a related field.Substantive industry experience in chemical engineering or material science.Broad scientific knowledge in material science and/or chemical engineering.Registered US patent agent or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam. Certifications:Registered US patent agent or eligibility for USPTO registration exam. Skills:Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to conduct thorough prior art searches and analyze complex scientific documents.Proficiency in drafting patent applications and responses to office actions.Advanced degree in material science or chemical engineering is a plus.
