The role involves representing clients injured by exposure to asbestos.Job Overview: The Deposition Associate Attorney will be responsible for preparing assigned asbestos disease cases in a team environment, conducting client and witness interviews, gathering and analyzing information from various records, organizing and conducting depositions of fact witnesses, and summarizing testimony. The role requires 80% travel time across the United States to meet clients, potential clients, and other witnesses. The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of attorney experience, with personal injury or asbestos experience preferred.Duties:Represent clients injured by exposure to asbestosPrepare assigned asbestos disease cases in a team environmentConduct client and witness interviews, both in person and on the phone, to obtain and evaluate informationGather and analyze information by examining records such as Social Security, Medical, Military, and Union recordsPrepare and conduct depositions of fact witnessesSummarize testimony from fact-witness depositionsRequirements:2-5 years of attorney experience; personal injury or asbestos experience preferredCompetent to Expert knowledge and demonstrated competency in:Legal procedures and processes regarding case sign-ups, depositions, and testimonyLegal research and writingMS Office Word, Excel, Adobe, and OutlookExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenSelf-motivated and well-organizedAbility to problem solve and strategizeAbility to learn and retain industrial and medical informationCompassion for helping terminally sick clientsAdaptable and responsive to client needs based on health statusLicensed to Practice Law in IllinoisEducation and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolLicensed to Practice Law in Illinois.
