The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience handling bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation (including mortgage foreclosure litigation), and other creditors’ rights matters. Strong academic background, excellent writing skills, and admission to practice in New York and New Jersey are required for this role. Duties:Handle bankruptcy litigation cases, representing creditors or debtors in court proceedings.Manage commercial litigation matters, including mortgage foreclosure litigation, from initiation to resolution.Represent clients in creditors’ rights matters both in and out of court.Conduct legal research and analysis on bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues.Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on case strategy and management.Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.Stay informed about developments in bankruptcy law and commercial litigation practices. Requirements:2-5 years of experience in bankruptcy and commercial litigation.Admission to practice law in New York.Strong academic background with a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents. Education:Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to practice law in New York. Skills:Experience in handling bankruptcy litigation and commercial litigation matters.Knowledge of creditors’ rights laws and procedures.Strong research and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. This firm has given a lot of thought to the interplay between the New York and the New Jersey legal markets. Although one of the oldest and largest in New Jersey, this firm wants to capture the Manhattan type work at Manhattan type billing rates. Although they are not quite there yet, this firm has developed a structure that enables it to base the bulk of its personnel and resources in New Jersey, and have a small New York space from which to handle the 'big city' work. An interesting plan, to be sure. Associates here raves about the reasonable hours and the immediate responsibility, many of whom deal directly with clients and handle entire cases. This is one of the few New Jersey firms where you will see the reverse commute--attorneys leaving Manhattan to take advantage of pleasant work environment and excellent training ground.
