The mission of Kehillah, the JCC Special Needs Program, is to provide quality recreational, social, and enrichment programs for children, teens, and adults with special needs. We are committed to fostering a fun and welcoming environment where participants can develop skills and independence, build self-esteem, and cultivate meaningful relationships.Our participants represent a diverse group of individuals with a variety of diagnoses including: Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual and Developmental disabilities, and more! Our Kehillah community brightens everyone's day with the joy and excitement they bring with them.We are looking to hire a Social Group Leader to work with our Tweens, Teens, and adults with special needs. This role will provide specific instruction to a group of individuals with different abilities that builds social skills, personal safety, as well as specific program skillsFacilitate social groupAdapt instruction to the meet the needs of each individual to ensure successCommunicate regularly with participants, caregivers, and supervisorHave fun with our participants! Qualifications: Available Monday and Thursday eveningsMust be at least 19 years of ageExperience and training in working with individuals with different abilitiesHave great written and oral skillsHave great conflict resolution and problem solving skillsSuccessful background check and fingerprinting required Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc.: Previous related experience preferredMust have experience working with individuals with different abilitiesCPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred (we will provide training if needed)
