Please follow this link for a closer look at what it's like to work at Children's Wisconsin: https://www.instagram.com/lifeatcw/ Position Summary: Provide direct therapeutic interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team intended to stabilize the foster home placement and promote permanency for adolescents in the foster care system. Collaborating with the Recruitment Team to recruit foster homes that are open to taking teenagers, directing support and relationship building with the prospective foster parents during the licensing process, placing/matching teenagers into the home once licensed, directing service to children and the foster families once the placement occurs, and ongoing training and support to preserve the placement. Services to clients are performed as delineated by DCF 56 and in a manner consistent with accepted social work practices and agency program definitions. Adolescents referred to the program may present with emotional and behavioral challenges, as medically fragile, developmentally delayed, or delinquent. Attention to permanency planning and providing stable home environments to the adolescent is essential. Additional support such as crisis response and more frequent in home visits may be required depending on the stability of the placement. Position Requirement: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field required. State of Wisconsin certification, training certificate or temporary license or certification required as social worker. Advanced practice social worker, independent social worker, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist or professional counselor certificate or license preferred. Must use personal vehicle to transport youth. Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal auto liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the Children's auto insurance carrier. Experience working with teens. A working knowledge of child development and issues facing special needs children is required. Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Clinical Social Work skills preferred.
