Below are the job details:Job Overview:The Intellectual Property Associate Attorney will primarily focus on patent preparation and prosecution and provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters. The role involves working closely with team attorneys and staff members on IP-related tasks, including patent drafting, patentability analyses, opinion work, agreements, and litigation support.Duties:Write and file utility and design patent applicationsPursue corresponding U.S. and foreign patent protectionConduct freedom-to-operate analysesWrite opinions of counselCollaborate with team attorneys and staff on intellectual property mattersAssist in patentability analysesSupport in patent prosecutionEngage in IP-related agreementsProvide support in IP litigationRequirements:2-4 years of experience practicing in patent preparation and prosecutionUndergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering fieldExcellent academic credentialsSolid work ethicStrong writing and analytical skillsEducation:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (required)Juris Doctor (JD) degree (preferred)Certifications:Admission to the North Carolina Bar or Minneapolis State Bar (required)Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent Trademark Office, or eligible to sit for the Patent Bar (required) This Vault ranked firm promotes high level work, commitment to pro bono work, and great colleagues and clients.
