The vision for customer data management is to curate data and information for consumers and schools across lines of business users for the purpose of acting on it in the market, increasing the reliability of published data and information, promoting data-driven decision making across the business, and connecting stakeholders to insights to drive outcomes, while more efficiently controlling for data related risks.The Head of Customer Data and Analytics is responsible for defining GMAC's customer data strategy in partnership with Marketing, Technology, Product, Legal, School & Industry, Market Development and Finance, inclusive of registration, consent management, conversion (linear and non- linear), interactions with prospects and customers, data governance and compliance. The role will guide and drive GMAC's marketing analytics strategy as it relates to what data is needed to create actionable insights, including the use of predictive analytics and AI/ML solutions. Additionally, the Head of Customer Data and Analytics will lead GMAC's CRM roadmap and strategy for our omni-channel experience expansion to engage customers and improve retention and growth, as well as collaborate with senior cross-functional stakeholders on company-wide initiatives. The work will initially focus on consumer data but expand to include school data. This role will start as an individual contributor and will evolve to team leadership as the functional capability is built.Key Responsibilities: * Define categories for customer data (consumers and schools). * Manage the development of the customer data strategy and evolve GMAC's data vision for the organization's centralized analytical environment. * Function as the business lead for work with GMAC's chosen CRM provider, Salesforce, and key stakeholders across GMAC to define our roadmap and strategy as it relates to the customer. * Action business cases to be leveraged for better decision making. * Liaise with business analytics and data teams to ensure correct access for data feeds and nomenclature. * Work with Legal on key aspects of customer data related to regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA and Open Banking regulations. * Communicate the vision and strategy to all level of stakeholders in the organization. * Influence and drive consistency across multiple data initiatives across the organization. * Guide a senior level data council focused on strategy guidance, roadmap development and issue management. * Create and manage a data strategy and 3-year road map that teams use as their input for developing marketing and product offerings. * Work closely with the organization on enabling, building and operationalizing GMAC's segmentation strategy and roll out to shape consumer experience, driving engagement and conversion. * Engage and coordinate efforts from imperative leads to outline workstream specific scope (e.g., inventory of data sets and streams, number of applications etc., exclusions / exceptions), tracking mechanisms; identify producers and consumers (e.g., Data teams, Tech LOBs); consolidate baseline metrics as applicable. * Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts. * Identify dependencies and work with marketing, product, tech and business analytics partners to develop near vs. long term targets. * Support and in some cases create executive level reporting for governance forums. * Define various key metrics related to process, programs and products that need to be tracked and centralized for better communication and engagement with stakeholders * Work with Legal to create and maintain DPO Governance Metrics. * Liaise with Technology Team and CRM partner(s) to support and guide data transformation work. * Conduct customer data (starting with consumer and followed by schools) Data Governance maturity assessment and gap analysis to inform a "future state" data governance environment. * Develop roadmaps and identify specific projects based on identified gaps. * Gain and maintain awareness of GMAC's environment, culture, challenges. * Gain and maintain external environmental awareness of legislation, regulations, etc. * Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.Minimum Requirements: * Advanced degree from accredited university in field related to specialty area; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience. * 10 years' experience in related field. * Expertise in marketing, analytics, data management and strategy frameworks, big data environments, and data management solutions. * Previous CRM leadership experience within an e-commerce/B2C environment, as well proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders. * Skilled in implementing data management and strategy frameworks. * Ability to work effectively and influence a variety of senior level cross-functional partners including product, technology, and business analysis as well as our CRM provider of choice. * Customer focused and able to dynamically manage the priorities of multiple business partners. * Proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment. * Prior background in marketing or having worked closely in data driven marketing organizations. * Demonstrated flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks. * Ability to make strategic decisions that have a direct impact on daily operations of the department and the function. * Ability to guide others in resolving complex issues of significance to the organization. * Superior analytical skills and ability to prioritize objectives. * Exceptional communication and collaborative skills. * Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC's hybrid work environment.The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
