The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and prior experience in patent prosecution, particularly in hardware, software, database technology, artificial intelligence, wireless, and image/signal processing.Job Duties:Reviewing invention disclosure documents and conducting invention disclosure meetingsConducting prior art searches, reviewing references, and analyzing patentabilityDrafting patent applications by USPTO guidelinesReviewing USPTO office actions, formulating response strategies, conducting examiner interviews, and drafting and filing responsesManaging U.S. and foreign dockets to ensure compliance with deadlinesAnalyzing patents for due diligence and/or freedom to operate analysesCollaborating with attorneys and clients to assess patent strategies and objectivesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineeringPatent prosecution experience in one or more of the following technologies: hardware and devices, software, database technology, artificial intelligence, wireless, and image and/or signal processingPrior work experience in a law firm is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism in working with demanding clientsAbility to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilitiesHighly organized with extreme attention to detailStrong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in team settingsEducation and Certifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineeringPatent Agent registration or eligibility is preferred but not requiredSkills:Proficiency in conducting prior art searches and analyzing patentabilityStrong drafting skills for patent applications and responses to office actionsFamiliarity with USPTO procedures and regulationsAbility to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and patent-related software toolsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsJob Location: Boston, MA Built on excellence and driven by change, this AmLaw 100 firm is appealing to associates for its nimble, collaborative legal teams addressing the shifting legal and regulatory requirements of the global market?s most competitive industries.
