The Village of Hempstead is hiring for the 2024 Summer season for the following positions: LaborerRecreation AttendantLifeguard Qualifications for all positions Must be at least 16 years old with the appropriate NYS Employment Certificate (Working Card) Be a Village of Hempstead resident. Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions Will be required to work outside in all weather conditions. Laborers Ability to sweep streets, gutters, alleys, parks, openfields, etc. Ability to load garbage and/or recycling onto trucks up to 40 pounds Ability to load and unload equipment and supplies May operate motorized landscaping equipment Other duties as required Lifeguards Must have current Nassau County Lifegaurd Certification Current CPR/AED Certification Current First Aid Certification Recreation Attendants Must be able to work with young children May be required to clean and maintain various park facilities *To apply, select "Apply Now", complete all questions.
