The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section. Core Responsibilities: The Material Handler will u se material handling equipment and the warehouse management system to build pallets of product for shipment, receive product into the warehouse, put away product in the fill locations and replenish product into slots. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.Transport empty and full racks (350-XXXX lbs.) to production area, scales, & coolersScale empty racks to get tare weight and document.Scale full racks to get complete weight and document.Load and unload product to and from racksScoop product from vats/combos (approximately 5-40 lbs. per scoop)Working around animal blood and carcass parts, sanitation and cleaning chemicals, and other strong smells and odors.Work in temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 100+ degrees in environments that can be wet, humid, and noisy.Work with a knife, if properly trained.Work while wearing a hard hat, hearing and eye protection, face masks, face shields, and steel toe shoes.In the absence of key personnel, the employee's supervisor, or qualified designee (one that has been trained in the key employee's duties) is responsible to complete or delegate the completion of all required tasks and responsibilities.Other duties as assigned. Perform tasks that require continuous and repetitive movement, such as grasping and pinching your hands and flexing or extending your arms.Bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift.Stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hours while walking long distances and climbing, or moving around, on ladders, steps, and stairways.Position requires heavy lifting of 10-150 lbs and moving racks, which weigh 350-XXXX lbs. per rack.
