This position performs all chairside procedures, sterilization, taking radiographs, lab procedures, entering treatment and notes into the dental EMR. The Dental Assistant will be highly motivated, provide excellent patient care and be quality conscious. 4 day week (Mon-Thurs) - guaranteed 3 day weekends! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all chairside dental procedures efficientlyPerforms independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist in accordance with state regulation and law and department directive and protocolSterilization and preparation of dental operatories and instrumentsProperly take diagnostic quality radiographsPerforms all necessary lab proceduresResponsible for stocking treatment areasWorking knowledge of dental procedures and terminologyDemonstrates knowledge of dental instruments, treatment equipment and maintenance proceduresEfficiently directs patient flow through teamwork and communicationMaintains compliance with OSHA and department policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issuesReceptionist duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED certificateCompletion of accredited course in dental assisting preferred Experience At least two (2) years' experience as a chairside Dental Assistant preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hireCertified Dental Assistant preferredRegistered Dental Assistant preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bilingual preferredDeliver quality care to children and adultsMulti-task and prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written)Patient/staff rapport - make positive contribution to office/organizationKnowledge of modern dental materials, their storage handling and applications preferredDentrix software knowledge preferredDexis imaging knowledge preferredOral surgery experience preferredProven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion PHYSICAL DEMANDS Manual Dexterity : Work requires accuracy and moderate speed Physical Effort: Work requires considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion with some and/or continuous standing or walking Working Conditions: May include exposure to conditions requiring the use of personal protective equipment Hazards : Exposure to hazards that may result in short-term work-related absences.
